Inspired by A Different World

Has anyone ever noticed that the series creator Yvette Lee Bowser based these characters off of the "Different World" characters (a show she helped produced)?

Khadijah - strong, independent & always wanting manly affection like Jalessa

Synclaire - left of center, proudly odd or unique, and unsure about her future, the same way Freddie was

Maxine - independent, smart, sophisticated and dark skinned with a good profession like Kimberly Reese

Regine - bougie with an impeccable fashion sense, similar to Whitley

Kyle - smart, well dressed, strong willed, and career driven like DeWayne

Overton - not the brightest, but fun loving and still charming nonetheless. Could be seen as Kyle's sidekick, the way Ron was DeWayne's sidekick
