Just saw my first episode...

I knew nothing about this show, but I just watched the episode 'The Heart Of A Saturday Night' from season 5 because it was directed by Whit Stillman and I love his films. I enjoyed it a lot - the rhythm of the dialogue, the focus on the victim's families, and the performances by everyone. Is the rest of the show like this? It seemed realistic and thoughtful, and didn't trivialize death like a lot of crime shows seem to. I am thinking about watching it from the start, unless this episode is just an outlier and the rest of the show is nothing like this. So, should I watch more?

Absolutely, I think it is one of the very best representations of police work that was ever produced for television.
