In the upcoming remake, Frankenweenie looks just like Burton's old character of Family Dog! I kind of hope that Frankenweenie gives a renewed interest in this very short lived series. And I also hope that this will be available on DVD one day.

Aww you beat me to it. I knew there was something familier about Frankenweenie. And then it hit me. Frankeweenie looked like the dog in "Family Dog". Of course I decided to read more into it. And found out Tim Burton was the character designer for Family Dog. So basically he's using his old design.
