VEI released COBRA on DVD in Canada in 2007, and just recently it was released in the USA by Mill Creek.
Does anybody happen to have both and can say how they compare to each other? I bought the VEI set, but would be willing to buy the Mill Creek set if the visual quality is any better. The quality of the VEI set was okay, but could have been better. I'm guessing they used a video master for the release instead of the original film.
I have both. I was also hoping the quality of the US set would be better, but it seems to be about the same. I remember there being at least a glitch or two in at least one episode on the VEI set. If you happen to know where one is on the VEI set, I can check it against the Mill Creek set to see if they came from the same source. But so far, no actual glitches on screen in the US release that I've seen.
But it seems VEI worked a little harder on their set. They have the big episode descriptions and original air dates, and the US set does not. Another difference is, the VEI set has those little commercial cut-away snippets, with that shot of Scandal and the music and Cobra logo. The US set does not, cuts right to the next scene. I guess that might mean they are from a different source right there.
The cost of the US set is so cheap, I still found it worth getting.
