It's actually a song that was originally recorded for an episode of another show by Stephen J. Cannell, HUNTER, in the early-80s. That episode had the same premise of "Playing with Fire." In fact, the footage in COBRA of the man walking around the alley and setting fire to the building is the same footage from HUNTER. HUNTER fans have long tried to find more information on the song, but so far the singer/band has yet to be identified. :(

Hi, I have always thought that the song from "Playing with Fire' was the one written and performed by Saga (they wrote almost all the score and songs for this series) called 'Feed the Fire'. However, on their album 'Steel Umbrellas' (1994) including songs written for the Cobra series, 'Feed the Fire' is in a different version, or these two songs are different songs, but Saga's 'Feed the Fire' is the one written for this episode.

'Steel Umbrellas' is almost like a soundtrack of Cobra. Unfortunately it does not include the Cobra main theme, or the music from the show, but it has some great songs written for episodes like 'Push It', 'Lost in Cyberspace', Aces & Eights' and other episodes. Only few of these songs were used in the show, though.

I got a question, though. Does anyone know what is with the song from the episode 'I'd Die For You'. They even show a fragment of a clip with an actress singing. Is it a real song, or was it only written partially for this episode? If it is real, who is the singer and what is it called?
