Kevin,

Erm, I've just finished reading buddha of Surburbia and have been trying to get hold of the series on DVD. You're the only link I've found, are you able to make it accessible to download etc.

Sorry to be so cheeky but thanks for reading this far.

Cheers.

Best of Bowie DVD has only a few scenes from the mini-series.

Unfortunately I don't think this will ever get put on dvd. It seems that dvds aren't nearly as profitable as they were 3-4 years ago. You might be able to find a video rental or wait a couple years until movies are all downloaded.

Official release of the DVD is available from the BBC shop website, price £14.99, that's region 2 PAL though: www.bbcshop.com.

I just saw it as available for pre-order on the BBC Canada Shop website, so I guess it's on its way to Region 1 at last!

reply

Amazon.com lists it for release May 27, 2008.

Having watched this (I've had a made three years) is the DVD different from the series? Two scenes are missing - the scene where Kareem visits the commune, and Coltrane is playing, plus the clip of the sitcom Kareem gets a part in.

kev-mccready -

I also saw a youtube of Karim and his Dad in a pub that I have not seen in the DVD, are these scenes on the VHS copies of the series?

reply

I deffo remember that too, but that was when I watched it on tv (1993!). Might be rights issues (Coltrane for instance).
