Cory Never Had Real Problems

It seemed like everyone else on the show had their real life problems except Cory. The only real problems I can remember is when him and Shawn got drunk and arrested in season 5 and when he had to face trial for hiting that teacher(Fred Savage). Both scenarios he got into because of Topanga.

But for the most part, Cory made Shawn, Topanga's, and later Angela's problems his problems because he cared for them so much. But it was annoying that he couldn't handle everything not being so 'perfect' whenever something didn't go his way. I know he was the star of the show, but just about 'everything' went Cory's way in comparison to most people.

Hmm. You're right. I can only think of nitpicky things that were wrong with him.
I thought that was a problem in itself; he seemed to always inadvertently cause trouble for others and was always meddling. He always seemed to speak too soon. Like other adolescents, he seemed to want to fit in and be considered "in" although that's not even a real problem.

Are you saying that most teens real problems are being arrested or something unlawful?

What made this show good was it wasn't an over dramatized show. The real problems were rules at home, friends, teachers, homework and so on. Most kids grow up without serious problems. I think this is why the show lasted so long. Same with other long running sitcoms like Full House or Saved by the Bell.

Well he dealt with pretty harsh bullying for a couple seasons (even though it was played for comedy).

I remember the bullying pretty vividly. It's a common problem a lot of teenagers have to deal with in their lives.

I know a lot of the issues seemed to have centered around Cory, but you have to consider he's the star of the show. If Michael Jacobs decided to make more normal episodes, then it would defeat the purpose of a boy growing up in the world.

Are some of the scenarios given a bit far-fetched? Absolutely. But, again, there would be no "Boy Meets World" without it.

Now, if you want to look at some really ridiculous life lessons, then watch "Girl Meets World" (2014 - 2017). I couldn't stand that show because a lot of them seemed so petty or the problems they concocted weren't really something that kids would face in real life.

No wonder why Disney axed it after three seasons.

He had his own problems. There was the episode where he didn’t want to see himself in the mirror because of insecurity. There was the episode where he got his driver’s license, and his dad made a big deal because Corey was the last boy. Etc etc

I suddenly think though of the early seasons where he and his brother got in trouble for..I can't remember but he and his brother were grounded for it and had to watch a documentary on insect mating. There was also the time in season 2 where him and Topanga spent the night at school and he lied to everyone saying he had sex with Topanga just to make all the older kids like him.
