Beavis and Butt-Head, The archetypical people and events of high school

When this show premiered way back in '93, I was older than it's intended audience. What was, and is so striking to me was that Judge not only captured the "essence" of everyone that I had know going through HS, but also parodied (in a more gentle way, the further time passes) the emotions of high-schoolers. I'm roughly the same age as Mike Judge, and I'll argue that the show wasn't written for the "crude and lewd" (although it certainly kept the ball rolling, lol), but he was really showing how cruel, yet simultaneously hilarious high-schoolers can be. The adults were "spot-on", I knew, and still "know" those people, Todd the Bully, and the dreaded gym-teacher "Buzzcut". It's a shame that people took the show so seriously (well, the literal-minded, politicians, and other self-important "wannabees"), albeit on the un-intended level. Take out the guns, knives, and thuggery, and the message of the show would resonate through a millennia, or three. Uhhhhhh, actually, the weapons and thuggery would translate as well. Hehehehehehehehehehe, people who don't find the show to be hilarious, they all SUCK! 😀

I agree 100%. I was a Sophomore in high school when it premiered. You could pretty much walk through the school and point out every character from the show in real life.
