Ben Affleck

Remeber when he was in an episode. He played a jock that dated Dorothy Jane. He was so hot in that show (like he's not now). I just remembered that because I hadn't heard of him when he was on the show and I kept wondering who that gorgeous guy was.

reply

I remember that too!!! Weren't they working at Chicken in a Hat? LOL! That's hilarious! They shot water or pop or whatever all over eachother and him?!

reply

sorry, but that was not Ben Affleck that was Joey Lawerence in that episode when they dorothy jane & molly sprayed the water all over. If u look in the episode guide or have the episode I would watch it again to see that i am right.

reply

I dont remember characters or anything, but ben was a guest on the show, as well as joey. Just look under regular guests under the cast. its all there.

reply

Sooooooorry! I didn't mean to offend you by saying the wrong thing... I was just trying to reminisce a little bit... Chill.

I remember distinctly an episode where Dorothy Jane was dating a guy who gave her his letter jacket, and when she put it on, it was really big on her. Was that Ben in that episode, cause if it was, CLAS-SIC! That was a good show. I think they used to show reruns of it on the Disney channel; they should bring those reruns back cause I would love to watch it again.

reply

Yeah, that's him. It was a bit awkward because the height difference was so pronounced.

reply

I remember that episode, I thought I was the only one. Dorothy Jane had to tutor him in English. Does anyone remember The poem she read to him. I can't remember the name of it or who it was by. But it had something to do with kiss me once and I'll kiss you a thousand time..
Can anyone help with the name of the poem?

Thank you

reply

This episode was titled "Is That All There Is", and I don't think that they ever told the name or author of the poem. It's "To Anthea", by Robert Herrick. He's the same guy who wrote "To the Virgins to Make Much of Time". That's the one that goes "Gathter ye rosebuds while ye may..."

reply

Actually it isnt "to anthea" by robert herrick!!!! to anthea goes like this

Bid me to live, and I will live
Thy Protestant to be;
Or bid me love, and I will give
A loving heart to thee.

A heart as soft, a heart as kind,
A heart as sound and free,
As in the whole world thou canst find,
That heart I'll give to thee.

Bid that heart stay, and it will stay,
To honour thy decree;
Or bid it languish quite away,
And 't shall do so for thee.

Bid me to weep, and I will weep
While I have eyes to see;
And having none, yet I will keep
A heart to weep for thee.

Bid me despair, and I'll despair
Under that cypress-tree;
Or bid me die, and I will dare
E'en death to die for thee.

Thou art my life, my love, my heart,
The very eyes of me;
And hast command of every part
To live and die for thee.

LIKE HELLO THAT IS NOT THE POEM THE POEM SHE SAID WAS BY EMILY DICKINSON...I cant find the poem....but I will! it's not that poem ^^^ its not by robert herrick the poem read from dorothy jane went like this kinda "kiss me once, a thousand times more. Kiss me twice but then twice to a score" or something like that

reply

Get your facts straight. Both of these poems--the one quoted in the episode and the one you quoted--are by Robert Herrick and are titled "To Anthea". The one in the episode is "To Anthea III" while the one you quote is "To Anthea, who may command him Anything".

The Emily Dickinson poem that she read was "I'm nobody, who are you". What does that have to do with the rest of this thread?

reply

I also need to find that poem. It's been bugging for years. I don't know how many poems I've read by Emily Dickinson, but I haven't found it yet! Help!

reply

I TOTALLY remember the episode with Ben Affleck! I loved this show, I wish it still played on tv.
