I may rest assured. For many years, I could remember watching a show where the girl talks to the man on the the moon while sitting on her bay window. Like a year ago, I found that that was The Torkelsons. However, I still distinctly remembered that the girl later got a step sister, who had always reminded me of Brittany Murphy. Duh, I find now that she did get a stepsister, and it WAS Brittany Murphy. Why did they change the name of the show anyway??? It really had me confused.

I don't think they changed the name of the show. Wasn't "Almost Home" a spinoff of "The Torkelsons".

she wasnt the step-sister, as I've seen many people say. The Torkelson's just lived in their house beacuse their mother was hired as the nanny.

No, it wasn't a spinoff. A spinoff implies that it was its own series.

Almost Home was just the 2nd season of The Torkelson's, renamed with a slightly different plot line.

When the show was replayed in syndication on the Disney Channel in the mid-late 90s, they played reruns of both seasons, but under the name The Torkelson's for both seasons. There was no mention of the name "Almost Home" when it was replayed in syndication.

It was not its own series, so it was not a spinoff.
