Missing 2 Children

I love watching the reruns of this show long time ago. Its funny to say that I also watch the show when it was just the Torkelsons. In the Torkelsons, there was 5 children but in Almost Home there was 3 children: Dorothy Jane, Chuckie, Mary Sue. They were missing the 2 other children... Its like they dissappeared or something. Who can solved this "unsolved mystery"??? LOL

reply

I can't solve the mystery, but I'd definatly like to know where the other 2 went also. My best guess is that they still wanted 5 kids so they got rid of 2 to bring on 2 new ones.

reply

yea i watched the reruns of this show when i was little and i was wondering the same thing!!

I have a feeling we'll never know the true answer to this question.

I can't remember much about the original Torkelsons but I assumed those were some cousins or neigbor friends of the family.I actually liked Almost home better-yes I think if those were the kids missing it was a boy and a girl.

reply

Steven Floyd and Ruth Ann might have gone to be with their dad, but who knows? On Family Matters, little sister, Judy, was supposedly sent to her room and never heard from again.

reply

the same thing happened on "Family Matters" Remember Judy? she also mysteriously disappeared

reply

And don't forget Richie's older brother Chuckie on "Happy Days" and Corey's little sister on "Boy Meets World" though the latter returned eventually, played by a different actress and even made an in-joke about being in her room for a REALLY long time.

Where is the black hole that all these TV kids keep getting sucked into?

reply

there's also a boy meets world episode (the one where cory straightens his hair) where shawn has an older sister...but only for that episode. i think her name was stacy, or common-early-90's-name.

reply

When they show the opening credits for 'Almost Home' when Dorthy Jane looks back at the house, it looks like Steven Floyd's shadow is in the door way.

maybe the other two kids went with the father

reply

Shawn (on bmw) also had another older brother who lived in the trailer park, remember the ep where Cory like films life in the t-park and he catches him on film with stolen stuff or something.

And! what about the youngest boy on Step-By-Step.. He disappeared after the baby girl was born.. LoL.

When you do a good deed, get a receipt, in case heaven is like the IRS.

reply

I know Shawn had like a zillion relatives that were never expanded on. The only one who appeared for more than 3 was the guy played by Matt Lawerence.

reply

Yeah her name was Stacey, he also had a second half-brother different from Jack. and Topanga had an older sister never to be seen again. What was her name Nebula?

reply

also toppanga has a sister in one of the earlier seasons and later said to be an only child

reply

Richie's brother left to "get married" that's what they said in the last episode when they were remembering. It was just a bad write off!

reply

And on That '70s Show, Donna had a younger sister Tina that only showed up for one episode. In the credits of Soap Opera episode, the narrator actually asks, "And what ever happened to Midge's other daughter Tina?"

reply

And Brendan from Step By Step disappeared too.

reply

Who cares. Those two were annoying anyway.

reply

That confused me so much. I'm glad to know I'm not just insane and that I imagined those two children.

reply

Hello,
I just read your comments on the sitcom "Almost Home" The 2 missing children went of to live with their father when Milicent moved to Seattle. There is your answer. be free to write back Thanks

reply

...I'm not sure if that's true. There was an episode in the original series where their father showed up and it was addressed that he was a total dead beat and had no responsiblity toward his children. I personally choose to believe that Ruth Ann and Steven Floyd (the two missing children) got jobs at the Frosty King and lived in the back refrigerator. :)

reply

remember topanga's older sister on boy meets world? where did she go?

reply

yeah, Eric wanted her. I think her name was Nebula.

reply

Yeah, Nebula Stop-the-War Lawrence.

Also, Topanga's parents were played by several different actors and also changed names. Early on, her parents' names were Jedidiah (played by Peter Tork) and Chloe. Then later, her mom's name is Rhiannon, played by Annette O'Toole and Marcia Cross. Her dad is also later played by Michael McKean and Mark Harelik.

That show is full of continuity errors.

reply

Yeah, I agree. I really don't think Millicent would give up 2 of her children, especially to that deadbeat. I think they were the 2 least favorite kids so off they went.

reply

I always liked Steven Floyd....I thought he was cute when I was like, 10 and watching the show on Disney Channel! lol

As for Topanga's older sister, I totally forgot about her! I guess she's anothe one of the mysteriously disappearing TV kids.

As for Boy Meets World, Shawn had a few different half-siblings as his father had many illegitimate children. Shawn's biological mother did not even raise him, but he grew up thinking Virna was his real mother. It was not until after Chet's death that Shawn really realized his father had been with many women in his time, including his biological mother and his non-biological mother. (Well, that's the episode that he learns Virna was not his biological mother. He may have realized sooner just how many women his father had been with at some point.)

As for Step-By-Step, all the kids stayed on the show except for two: Frank's nephew, Cody, who gets a job in Russia and travels around the world for a year, and Frank's youngest son, Brendan, who suddenly disappears after a baseball episode in season.

Now for Almost Home, the characters who played Ruth Ann and Stephen Floyd were cut from the cast for some reason. In "Almost Home," there is one episode where the two are mentioned. They say that they are living with their father. It is actually in an episode of Torkelsons where the father returns as a deadbeat, so he must have "gotten his act together" in order to have custody of the two children.

reply

Yeah...also in the middle school saved by the bell episodes zach had a sister and screech had a sister as well...children just go missing by the dozen in tv land lol

reply

I believe that it was Kelly that had sister on saved by the bell that had a crush on zack, I don't remember screech having a sister.

I know this is an old post but I'm answering. Kelly was one of 7 children. In one episode Zack asks her to the prom and she finds out the family is short on money so she takes her dress back and she & Zack dance outside listening to the music. Or they dance at home. Then she later got jobs to help the family out.

Screech said he had a brother.

i thought steven floyd and ruth ann never existed in almost home. i cant remember they were ever mentioned.

If you watched the show The Torkelsons you might remember an episode at the end of its run where the dad comes back again. We learn that it's the 15th wedding anniversary of the parents, he came back to try and celebrate and remind the mom of what they once had. Eventually he explains that it was a case of you don't know what you've got till it's gone. He said that even though they did not make it to 15 years the gift he wanted to give her was his deepest regret. He had made up with Dorthey Jane and you were left with the impression that he realized just what kind of deadbeat he had been and finally realized the toll it had taken on his family. He took complete responsibility for how everything went down. The audience was left with a feeling of closure, that he had turned over a new leaf and was going to make an effort to be better. So though I have a hard time believing Milicent would leave any of her children behind especially with her ex it's still something I could choke down.

Personally I prefer to think she left them with her mother in law Bootsy who appeared frequently in the beginning of The Torkelsons, she lived in the same area and it would have been easier on the kids. Chucky Lee and Mary Sue are young enough to adjust to the move and Dorthey Jane wanted nothing more than to leave Pyramid Corners, Ruth Ann and Stephan Floyd were Tweens so they had already made a life and we're not as eager to leave. If they stayed with their grandmother they could have a chance to spend more time with there father possibly, if he truely had changed.
Just my personal thoughts.

another thing that bugs me about boy meets world is that they claim topanga and corey have been dating since they were four LOL when in reality earlier on the series topanga was considered a 'hippy dippy freak' and corey and shawn thought she was weird.

reply

[deleted]

They talked about this in one episode. Apparently before she was a "hippy dippy freak" she and Cory were friends....then Shawn or Eric (I don't remember which) told him that girls had cooties and they were semi-enemies for years.

Does anyone else remember the boy who played Chuckie Lee being on Boy Meets World? He was in the really old episodes of BMW and then reappeared in the graduation episode to try to beat Topanga out of valedictorian (spelling on that? it's midnight and I'm tired...)

- Cairo

reply

Yeah I remember him his name was Minkus or something like that. He got put on BMW after the Two Torkelson shows were cancelled because all three of the shows were made by Michael Jacobs or whoever.

NerdBomber

reply

Yes his name was Lee Norris

reply

Ironically enough, he was the one who played Chuckie Lee on Torkelsons and Almost Home.

reply

Though it was probably an error on their parts, technically all they said was that when they were four they flirted with each other/had that sort of uber-young kiddish lovelike. It's very possible that when they were four they liked each other and then when Cory grew up (i.e. the 1st 2 or 3 seasons of BMW), he reached that "girls have cooties" phase of life. That would explain his disdain of Topanga and her 'hippy dippy freak' ways in early Boy Meets World eps.

Again, probably just the show making (yet another) mistake, but I like to think it's still possible for them to be in love as toddlers, have a period of indifference, like each other again, break up, and then get together, married, etc.

reply

I think that I remember an episode where the dad came back just because I remember him saying this "When I left the r on the (insert name of hardware store here) sign was burned out and when I came back it was still burned out."
or something like that.

reply

siblings seem to mysteriously dissappear in alot of shows I've noticed I have no clue what happened to these kids but I really enjoyed this show... usually it's because they can't pay them enough or the kids are pulled outa showbiz or they are offered more money for another show or movie and thats why they leave or they just don't feel the need for them in the series... Example Step by Step they had a younger brother with dark hair who suddenly droped outa the credits when the baby was born and you would only see him on occasion standing in the kitchen or eating dinner but he never said a word and was only in like 5 or so episodes after this
