What a great voice she has.

What's her accent?

Miss Fingerwood was played by the guitarist and singer/songwriter Syd Straw. In her biography I found at allmusic.com, it says that she was raised in Los Angeles. But her voice on The Adventures of Pete & Pete does sound awfully southern for someone raised in southern California. Maybe she was putting on a fake accent to make her character all that more weird.

"Straw was raised in Los Angeles, the daughter of Hollywood film and TV actor Jack Straw, best-known for his starring role in The Pajama Game. She was drawn to the life of a performer, and after high school, she headed straight for Manhattan, arriving in New York in 1978."
