Correct "Hey Sandy" Lyrics by Danny Tamberelli (Little Pete)

Assuming Danny Tamberelli (little Pete) wasn't joking, he told the world that it's "can you settle a sure bet?" during this reddit IAMA a couple of years ago: http://www.reddit.com/comments/wc33h/iama_comedian_and_musician_danny_ tamberelli_i_was/. It's just a few responses down from the top.

So a literal translation would be:

"Hey Sandy" (The Adventures of Pete & Pete Edit)

Hey, smilin’ strange
You’re lookin’ happily deranged
A-can you settle a sure bet?
Or have you picked your target yet?

Hey, Sandy (Aye-yi-yi)
Does your dog bite? (Aye-yi-yi)
Hey, Sandy

(Aye-yi-yi) Hey, Sandy
Does your dog bite? (Aye-yi-yi)
Hey, Sandy
(Aye-yi-yi) Hey, Sandy
Well, does your dog bite? (Aye-yi-yi)
Hey, Sandy
Hey

This is epic! Thanks for pointing this out!

Of course, Danny could be joking, but it does sound right to my ears!

Best,

watch the commentary for nightcrawlers on the dvd, bruh. the CREATORS OF THE SHOW clearly state that the lyrics are in fact, "does your dog bite." the lead singer of Polaris played the song for them, and when they heard him sing, "does your dog bite" they instantly knew that was the theme song. closed caption can get it wrong a lot of times. I have seen many movies on closed caption where whoever did the subtitles got it wrong.

It's obviously "Can you settle to shoot me?"

That way the next line about picking a target makes sense.

That is awesome!

As a kid, I would always misinterpret the lyrics. For YEARS, I sang it as, "Hey, pot is strange". Michael C. Maronna looked high as a kite in the intro, LOL!

Though, why Nickelodeon would promote marijuana use doesn't make a lick of sense. People were very anti-drugs back then, even against weed. Remember those silly Public Service Announcements (PSAs) against it? Smoking weed wasn't "cool" back then.
