reply

Bowler, but I gotta mention Aaron Viva and Pete Hutter!

reply

Pete Hutter's priceless. Love 'im.

Hello Ba-RIS-co!

My Piece!

reply

"My piece!! You're...you're...touchin' m'piece....NOBODY! Touches! Pete's! Piece!!"

He still makes me laugh 10 years later.

reply

Geez, 10 years?! Oh man, I didn't need to be reminded...

reply

Alas, yes, it's been 10 years. Stupid FOX cancelled it & aired the final episode in May, 1994. Stupid FOX! (Bitter? Who, ME?)

reply

10 years ... sigh. Very scary. Stupid FOX indeed. I just hope we don't have to wait much longer for the DVDs.

DVDs would be *so* nice! In the meantime, the videos will have to suffice. Better to have mediocre quality tapes of Brisco than no Brisco at all.

reply

Than no Brisco at all? That's what I have to deal with...god damn it.

reply

Brisco was the best. It was his show.
But bowler was great as well

And Pete was hilarious.

My favorite memory was when somebody was in a diving suit and Pete gives him the thumbs up sign and says "He says, he thinks you're going to drown."

And the guy in the suit can't hear him at all.

My friends and I still use that line.

It was a great show, but really strange.
Oh, well. I still laugh whenever I see any of the actors in movies or TV shows.

If you like Bruce Campbell, make sure to see Bubba Ho-tep. Weird movie but cool idea and he does Elvis really well.

reply

Brisco of course, then Bowler. Stupid, stupid FOX.

There are so many...I really liked Professor Wickwire, but I'll watch anything with John Astin in it (if you like Brisco, you'll love "The Brothers O'Toole"). Bowler was so appealing when he got angry. Even the Swill family has some charm. I wouldn't mind spending time with Dixie, but if I had to be trapped somewhere with someone from this show, it would be Ilsa and Katrina, the Schwenke sisters. The actresses are real-life sisters, and they grew up in my little corner of my home state. I loved the way Wickwire said their name: The SCHVEN-ke sisters! They are worthy of his gusto.

reply

Of course I liked all the characters, but Dixie Cousins was my favorite, and Comet the Wonder Horse:)

reply

'Forget about it? You mean rip it from my memory like a picture from a book? A picture of a small boy, kind of shy...with big ears who only wanted to be liked. And the laughing faces of his classmates, mocking him because he forgot to wear his pants to school? Is that what you mean?'

immediately, you could tell pete was a complex character. best lines.

reply

Pete Hutter hands down. He had the best lines right from the start. "Dixie, could you move to the left, I'm kinda a stickler for gun safety". Then of course the dueling banjos scene between Pete and Aaron Viva in the jail cell. That sequence makes me cry.

"We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm a hero!"

reply

Definately Bill Drago as Bly he was just the perfect villian. From the moment I saw him I knew he was the main villian. Any episode where he appeared was a joy. Bowler is my second favorite.

reply

Everybody was awesome! personally, my favorite had to be Brisco though...... sorry Bowler, there's just no comparison in my mind...

and who couldn't love Comet???

reply

Crazy Pete was the original Kenny from Southpark. When he "died" in the first episode, I was ready to cry. I loved his character from the start.

Then, how do they explain it?

Brisco "Hey, didn't I kill you?"
Pete "Naw."
Brisco "Oh. K."

I know those aren't the real lines, but it felt that way to me.

Then, of course, one of the best lines in any tv show EVER:

"That's the thing about your Chi-nese death stars... An hour later, you're alive again."

My friends and I use that line all the time.

And no one ever seemed to take it odd that he kept coming back from the dead. Brilliant.

When I first saw it, way back in '93, I was all about Socrates (who I thought was cute--still do). Revisiting it with my boyfriend some ten years later, my favorite became John Bly (sexy, scary). But, I pretty much love everything about the show, and most of the characters (sorry--never warmed up to Whip). I eagerly await the DVDs so I can get my Soc/Bly fix with a clearer picture. ;D

reply

I was also a big fan of Socrates. The Episode where he is being stalked by that crazy chick is my favorite. I recently went to see United 93 and Christian Clemenson played the main character...I couldn't stop seeing Soc.

My second fav has to be Comet. I'll even give him some leeway for not getting the combination lock right on the first try...he still manages to save the day.

But Brisco is the one I quote most often. I even got some of my coworkers saying "very fancy" even though they don't where I got it from.

The Swill Brothers!

I liked Pete alot. Viva was great for the episodes he was in. Ate alot.

I liked Bly. Everytime I look at him I get shivers down my spine. I love it when a villan can do that.

For me, there is only one answer:

DIXIE!

So many great characters in this show. But aside from BahRISco, I give the nod to Pete Hutter. I would start laughing before Pete even talked. "Nobody touches my piece", but in every episode he was in someone did just that. One of the greatest running gags ever!

Bowler and Wickwire were also great characters. Gary Hudson put an interesting slant on the Elvis impersonator in Aaron Viva. Face it, it was just a VERY cleverly written show that had some great, colorful supporting characters

reply

When I was youger, definately Dixie and Arron Viva. Currently watching the episdes on DVD after years & years & constatly surprised how well written and fuuny the characters are. Brisco wasn't the only one with good lines. Bowler, Socraties, Pete all have their days. Hell, even comet steals his scenes.

reply

I could just list every character and what made them so wonderful.....but Brisco WAS the show, everyone else just made it that much better to watch.

reply

Bowler what a monster of a bounty hunter. I liked it more when Brisco and him were at odds but during that time the network was under pressure to make it less violent by congress.

reply

I can't come up with a fave character because I thought all were excellent, I like to mention another character....."Big Smith" played by M.C. Gainey (even though he was in only two episodes) but he was memorable in the "Crystal Hawks" episode. At the end of the episode, Socrates wakes Brisco, he tells him that Big Smith was killed by Bly.......in that scene you can see the shock and sadness on Brisco's face. Good TV show, I wished the show continued for another season or at least make a movie to tie up the loose ends so to speak. Take care and have a better one.

Brisco. No contest.

Every character was great and who could forget Brisco's faithful compainion Bowler. Pete Hutter never died like when he was impaled in the last epsiode. It got even better when Aaron Viva showed up for the last two episodes. One scene that sticks in my mind is when Brisco, Soc, and the banker where traped in the safe and Brisco gives the combonation to who he thinks is Bowler and he screws up on the first try and Soc calls him an idoit. Then on the second try the safe opens and they see comet and Soc says "That's Amazing" and Brisco says " No it's not, it took him two trys"
