Gottfrid and Ivar

Both Änglagård movies(I don't really count the third one) are very sweet in my opinion, and I don't understand some of the negativity towards them. I saw these movies as a kid, and didn't think about the "risky" subjects at all, what stood out to me were the characters.
The reason I'm writing on this board though, is that Gottfrid and Ivar both remind me so much of my grandfathers, in terms of both appearence and personality. On my mom's side he is very sweet and open, and smiles a lot, very happy-go-lucky, much like Gottfrid. On my dad side, he could be very serious, but he showed much warmth to those he loved. He was taller and slimmer, like Ivar, and had a mischievous smile. It's hard to explain, but this picture really says it all:

Because of this I always cry during the second movie, if you've seen it, you know why. It's like looking at both my granddads together. Heartwarming and -wrenching at the same time
