Chow's best performance???

I got to say...Chow turned in one hell of a performance in this flick!!! Def one of his best films. Action, dialouge, acting...this is probally his 2nd best film. Right after HArd Boiled of course.

"Go jack off in Hell!"-Chow Yun-fat (in full contact)

I'd still be inclined to say "The Killer" is a better performance, I'm also soon going to watch "All About Ah Long" (the film he won an acting award for), but yeah this is a good film

Ah Long is indeed one of his best. I'd also put his performance in A Better Tomorrow up there (for my money, better than the one in The Killer, though he does have considerably less screen time, so that may play a part).

I have always love Chow. And after watching Full Contact, I know why do I always admire his natural acting skills cause he is capable of playing just about any role perfectly. Yet he so happens to be one of the most underrated stars. I think he deserves much more than that. Its a shame that this movie did poorly in Hong Kong then, cause I think its such an awesome movie even though its been fifteen years now. Chow has proved that he can definitely be a villain if he is asked to. A cult classic in the western world, but a box office bomb in its own country? This I wish I can understand cause its too absurd to even think about.

I'd have to put God of Gamblers down as Yun Fat's best 'acting' role. So much passion and feeling. To go from a hard killer to a simple child and actually pull it off was spectacular. And the return to his previous self was dealt with, with such underestimated style and class was just superb.

Not only does he essentially have two parts, at one point he has to be the simple child persona PRETENDING to be the smooth God of Gamblers, then some of it comes back to him in the middle of the scene. It's essentially acting out two separate personalities that partly merge, and CYF does a stunning job at it.
