Is Asian culture a little more gay than usual?

There's some pretty gay stuff in this movie. Hilarious to be sure. But in addition to seeing various Asian movies with stuff like that I've worked with many Asians in a student-instructor capacity and have seen them interact with each other in ways that many Americans would think of as crossing a bit of a line. Anyone think the Asians (Chinese in particular) maybe are more comfortable with stuff we Americans would normally think of as gay?

Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe f_uck yourself.

I think it's just that America is more sexually repressed than most other countries, and that carries over into male relationships. We're so afraid of coming off as gay that men are supposed to avoid any physical contact with another man, whatever its nature. In most other countries, that's not really the case.

In any case, this movie had a gay antagonist, but I don't think one character in a movie is really indicative of the sexual culture of an entire region, and most if not all of the other characters in the movie appear to be straight.

Exactly. Over here, male relatives and friends kiss each other on special occasions as a gesture of a brotherly love, this happens in most countries. Do it in the USA, and you'd be called a gay person faster than a rabbit gets *beep*
