Ann Rule should write a book about this

I've looked at the movies and books that deal with the before and after of the murders, but all of them seem to be somewhat partial to one side or another.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Ann Rule were to write up a book on this? She has such a good way of showing all sides while being non-partial and Rule really tries to get into the heads of the people she writes about.

I agree, Ann Rule probably could write an unbiased account, but she mainly writes about crimes committed in Oregon and Seattle areas. (btw she's my favorite true crime author, along with Jerry Bledsoe) Re: the Broderick case, unfortunately, most people seemed to become too emotionally involved with this one, so you have a hate or love Betty Linda and Dan, with seemingly nothing in between. I have read and re-read Bella Stumbo's THE TWELFTH OF NEVER and while it seems one sided (for Betty) you must remember, she had a lot more information
to go on than had other authors/journalists. while I enjoy re-watching A WOMAN SCORNED (Aussie title TIL MURDER DO US PART) I find it very biased against Betty. It tends to paint Betty as the villain, while almost portraying Dan and Linda as a couple of 'saints' of course it's not surprising, considering that Dan's brother Larry had a hand in the making of the films. On a personal level, this case has always fascinated me, and while I could never condone murder, I have to say that Dan and Linda to my way of thinking were downright cruel. I mean FOR HEAVENS SAKE if a man wants to have a new life with someone else, at least start over somewhere else,(the man was a millionare and educated, so it's not like he didn't have a choice) not have your new lady 'step into your ex wife's shoes and life, that's virtually what Linda Kolkena did, which shows a complete lack of sensitivity and disregard for the discarded wife's feelings. the sad part of course is that Betty Broderick really threw her own life away by her actions, nobody is worth doing that for, least of all a cheating husband.
