Betty wasn't THAT far gone...

With that mother from that 70's show voicing her resignation and her reasons, we see that Betty had a point.

1: He was doing some odd things with this Princess Diana lookalike secretary -- why is she looking for a midlife crisis car for him???

2: He blows Betty off on a birthay tradition for going to lunch for -- what was it 4 hours--- 7 hours???

3: She basically becomes Mother to the children (good god that cake was pathetic looking)

The pieace de resistence... he ended up marrying her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Thank you God! Thank you so BLOODY much!Basil Fawlty

It's worse than that. He was cheating on her with Linda for six years, letting her think she was crazy for the first three years by denying that anything was going on with Linda.

I'm just not sure of the degree to which the killing was planned and premeditated by Betty. One lonely night she may have just snapped.

"Joey, have you ever been in a Turkish prison?"

Terrible. And don't forget Dan and Linda got married on what would have been Betty and Dan's 20th anniversary. That was not a coincidence, they could have gotten married on a different day. So Dan and Linda obviously enjoyed and wanted to torment Betty and drive her to suicide IMO.

Y'know, I could eat a peach for hours

I never said I believed her claim that she went there to kill herself but I do believe Dan and Linda wanted to torment her and provoke her.

They were bullies and they chose to provoke an already unstable woman. You underestimate the effects infidelity and divorce do to some ppl, Dan using his legal power to torment Betty. Dan made his money showing the psychological effects of trauma of his clients, he knew the effects this had on ppl. And for Linda she had stepped in Bettys life, and had the nerve to taunt her? Dumb.

Yes, Dan should have known better. He just thought he couldn't lose.

I don't think she planned to kill herself. But I wasn't in her head. I'm not sure it happened as a cold-blooded execution either.
