Have you ever seen U-Turn ... these two movies have a very similar plot and vibe.
I don't really see the connection to NCFOM or ASP.

they're just very different films,
U-turn is an Oliver Stone movie, it's very far from the generic yet entertaining White Sands

It is a slicker production than the movies you've mentioned.
The only similarities to 'No Country For Old Men' is a Sheriff stumbles onto a murder scene. However he is undercover in 'White Sands'.

By the looks of when you posted you may have got chance to watch it.
It was the last time Mickey Rourke looked like his natural self in a movie.
It's good. Not great but definitely better than dozens of Crime movies from 1991/1992.
