I went out and bought this on a limb, not knowing anything about it. I saw that Mickey Rourke and Willem Defoe were in it so I thought what the hell? It'll be a few days before I can watch it, will I be disappointed?

Make sure you're watching it on DVD in widescreen. Director Donaldson's widescreen compositions deserve to be seen in their 2.35:1 entirety.

Saw this at the theatre opening weekend, and I wasn't disappointed at all. This and "Deep Cover" came out about the same time, which was really great having two stellar crime thrillers available to see one right aft6er the other.

Considering the rating IMDb voters have given it, it's a great surprise. I actually enjoyed it a lot.
