Mike Myers and Dana Carvey Feud?

Some of the sweetest early-nineties comedies somehow inspired some of the bitterest feuds, and though Bill Murray and Harold Ramis still haven't reconciled after filming Groundhog Day, at least the trio of talents who gave us Wayne's World have decided to settle their differences. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Academy president Hawk Koch convinced Mike Myers to patch things up with his former friend Dana Carvey (who felt that Myers had stolen his Lorne Michaels impression to use for Austin Powers villain Dr. Evil) and director Penelope Spheeris (who Myers barred from working on Wayne's World 2 after an editing-room disagreement); the three will reunite for an Academy panel in Los Angeles later this month. "We're all getting too old to be pissed," Spheeris told the Reporter. "Wayne's World has such a beautiful, uplifting spirit about it. Why should there be a dark cloud?" What else is there to say but "excellent"?

OP: "What else is there to say but "excellent"?"

How about, as Maggie put it, "Sequel". I would be up for a story about how the WW slackers turned out later in life. (No way they can just fake that young today).

the movie makes 100 mil and the two principal stars are feuding. Why don't I care? I saw the movie and yawned. It was ok.

You seem to care since you came to the Wayne's World message board and typed out a comment.

From what I've read, Mike Meyers seems difficult to work with. Tina Fey said he called SNL complaining about something, a line about him or an impression. He worked on SNL for years, impressions are an inevitable part of the business. I was surprised he didn't develop a thicker skin for that stuff. And then there's his feud with Dana Cavey, which I've never heard either of them comment on, but during his master of disguise tour, there was alot of commotion about it going against the third Austin Powers

Who knows, maybe a bit of professional jealousy between the two. Carvey was a hit on SNL, but never had a hit in a film that didn't include Myers. But Myers had plenty of success in films without Carvey.
