Ridiculous movie?

Anyone thought this one was ridiculous? First one was okay, but this one got kind of corny.

I liked it more at one time. Now, I usually only watch it right after the first, so it makes a nice companion piece than a stand-alone for myself. They did play a lot on the slap stick, probably too much at times, and there weren't as many atmosopheric setups as there could have been. It was a total teaser too when Mark was just about to go into a different portal and the last half pretty much just takes place in a medieval setting that wasn't incredibly inventive on its own. It was no Excalibur. The movie has a cool idea though and it usually opens my imagination of where they could have gone instead. So, that in itself is an effective strength.

Yeah, this one was totally ridiculous, but that's exactly why it was so much fun.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

It was ridiculous, alright - ridiculously stupid. Bruce Campbell and a very, very small few of the movie spoofs are the only saving graces.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for.

The second one was stupid and pointless!

I agree. I saw the original when it first came out, but never got a chance to see this one until now. I watched it as a double-feature on El Rey (paired with the first one).

I think where it lost the wife and I was after it went into the The Haunting parody, then abruptly, with no transition, flipped to the Alien sequence. For a few minutes, we actually thought the network screwed up and had cut to another movie!

The cornball comedy is turned up too much to make this even the least bit scary or horrific. We ended up bailing on it about halfway through.
