I have to say...

..this is a quite remarkable book, even if i do say so myself and it transfers well to film.

Waterland should be watched and read and read and watched many times over!

Enjoy!

I agree. I saw the film first which i loved, and then bought the book. I also live near the Fens so i can relate to a lot of the scenery. I can't stop watching the film!

The only niggle (and i hate to knock this film because i love it) is that Sinead Cusack's accent as the older Mary Crick was Irish! The young Mary had a very good authentic East Anglian accent, but Sinead's Irish accent was all too obvious.

Still, don't let that put anyone off this film. It's wonderful.
