Needs a sequel

Just saw this recently and really enjoyed it, but i'd really like to see a sequel or updated version taking in developments since 1992 like High Definition, Digital Video and 3-D.

Totally agree, last 20 years have been great for cinematography. I enjoyed watching this but I would have really enjoyed seeing the movies in my generation.

It would be really cool if they included more recent cinematography (like the work of Deakins) while expanding on some of the old cinematography.

I think it would be great (and reasonable) if this film where released on blu-ray (remastered) and a new doc (of last 20 years cinematography) were added as a bonus feature.
And they gotta get Christopher Doyle for that!

Watched the old non-anamorphic DVD last night. What this film really needs is to be re-made. What I mean by that is that all the interview footage, which was apparently shot in HD, needs to be unearthed, transferred into high def and newer, better HD clips of all the films need to be gathered and the whole thing reassembled. It would make great demo material.

In its current form its pathetic that a film rhapsodizing on the beauty of cinematography looks so poor and uses such worn, faded clips.

Last year Side by Side was released focused mainly on the changes caused by digital format.
