what was movie was the script originally for?

i read somewhere (most likely on wikipedia) that there was this movie that never materialized but the script was then used for Universal movie.

Anyone know what movie? i think it was for a comic or a video game.. cant remember

No, the script was just different (it was originally called "Crystal Knights") but was too expensive to make, so it was rewritten by Dean Devlin when Roland Emmerich came on board.

This movie was actually supposed to be a weird sequal to Total Recall, but the screenplay was changed dramatically, both were written by Phillip K Dick.

No it wasn't. It was an original script bu Christpher Leitch and Richard Roth, already about "super soldiers". The movie was to have a lot of CGI (or what it was at the time) but the producers didn't totally agreed with Andrew Davis' vision. Roland Emmerich was then brought in and he asked Devlin to re-write the script.

it was originaly a short story arc published in 2000AD alongside judge dread back in the late eighties.

Actually, I think you might be thinking of "Cyborg," which was originally written as a sequel to "Masters of the Universe."
Interestingly, it still occasionally shows up on television under the title Masters of the Universe II: The Cyborg."
