steroids?

were the producers of this movie barry bonds and jason giambi? the only way van damme can win is by taking steroids. what kind of a message are they trying to send?

reply

i really hope that your joking bud..

This isn't a sports film, so the message is irrelevant. But in any case in this film the unisols are forced to take steroids, they don't choose to, so if you look at your connection to sports, it is different.

If there is anyone stupid enough to fine a message in this movie then I feel sorry for them.. but if you want to get technical steriods are not miracle drugs and do not give anyone super strenth as soon as they inject them. Also NO steroid is a florecent green and no steroid can bring back the dead.

Let's think about this boys and girls. the universal soldiers are forced to take the steriods initially, but dolph decides to keep taking them after he overthrows the unisol program. in the final fight, van damme is getting beat up. normally in action movies, the good guy gets beat up by the bad guy, and then the bad guy alludes to the good guy's girl friend. this makes the good guy mad, and he recovers and beats up the bad guy. follow me? it's a formula. in unisol, however, dolph *kills* van damme's girl friend. van damme is so mad about this that he starts winning the fight, but eventually the steroid-strong dolph starts winning the fight again. this violates the formula. the only reason van damme eventually wins the fight is he injects steroids, thus giving him the flexibility to pull off those multiple round house kicks. WITHOUT THE STEROIDS, JEAN CLAUDE WOULD HAVE LOST. As I said in my earlier message, What kind of a message does this send?

reply

Who cares? It's an action movie. I saw the last 20-30 mins of this movie (which I thoroughly enjoyed) and as the credits were rolling, I didn't jump up, call my local drug dealer/pharmacy, and beg for some of the "stuff". Some movies influence me, or make me change my opinion about the movie's topic, but steroids are still a bad idea in my book. As for the message it sends out, in my opinion the main character was just evening up the odds by taking some very quick-acting steroids

You See Sid It's A Lot Scarier When There's No Motive

THEY ARE NOT STERIODS, ARE YOU ALL DIMWITS?
Steriods dont work 30sec after you inject

It would have to be some special type of adrenaline serum for the universal soldier, which works instantly!!!

I was waiting for someone to finally say that as I scrolled down this idiotic thread.

Van Damme could never beat Dolph, they got into a real fight in a bar during filming and I hope you can guess who won...

Hey, bad message to the kids or not, the movie is rated R for a reason! Rated R =RESTRICTED AUDIENCES, kids shouldn't watch this movie.

Steroid/adrenaline injection, loads of guns, loads of action, loads of blood, loads of violence, sounds like a good movie to me!

...Plus, lots of muscle-bound guys to look at!

Always an active duty Jr. American Gladiator!

Maybe it was just vitamin C...

Its not like they both weren't exposed to roids I mean look at them both in the early 90's they were fricken huge lol No van dammes a coke head and dolphs skinny and they cant act today because the low budget action films go straight to video just ask Seagal who keeps hanging around for some odd reason maybe he still owes the mob haha

reply

I was reading this idiotic thread... The OP trying to see "the message" from the producers. LOL. What about Popeye, taking spinach to beat his enemies??? And that cartoon WAS for kids. Hahahaha!
