Is there any implication that William Munny was The Man with No Name?

The character in High Plains Drifter certainly fits the description of Munny in his younger days....

reply

No, none at all. The writer is unconnected with any other eastward western and High plains drifter is set later than Unforgiven.

Not really, IMO... Although the man with no name was kind of a badass anti hero, he was no villain. They describe William Munny in Unforgiven as a killer of women and children, a really mean son of a bitch with no redeeming qualities who got a chance at redemption when he met his wife. I saw him more as a Frank-type (Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time in the West) character. An outlaw who took what he wanted by force and who brutally killed whoever stood in his way.
