What's your rating for Fire Walk with Me?

10/10 for me, despite the flaws it might have, I have never seen anything like it. Truly a remarkable film and a superb performance by Sheryl Lee.

10/10. One of very few films who mix horror with deep emotions. I get teary at the end after 45 minutes of psychological horror at it's most effective. Lynch is a master at those emotions.

8/10

10/10.

But what else would you expect from a lifetime fanboy?

reply

10/10. Like Lost Highway, this is one of the strangest and most powerful films I've ever seen. Then again, I feel the same way about most Lynch films.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

Saw it once in the theatre, dont remember a thing about it.

6/10 for me but it is so hard to rate!

It isn't a good movie by any standard if rated as a stand-alone movie. Way too confusing and lots of scenes and characters are pointless if you haven't seen the series. However, it is a very nice addition to anyone familiar with Twin Peaks because it answers some of the questions you have and gives you a proper narrative and chronology for all the events happening before that you only know from what the characters tell us or discover. I have seen the Twin Peaks series many times but Fire Walk with Me corrected a few things I made false assumptions about and was shock-ful with usefule information and background.

8/10. Not as good as the series, which I gave 10/10, but still pretty damn good.

I didn't like how a lot of the original characters didn't make it back, and the film didn't have the same unusual, soapy tone to most of the character's dialogue that the show did so well. However, witnessing the actual story of Laura Palmer after watching the series felt nothing short of epic.

Oh, and of course, Sheryl Lee's performance was mindblowing. Seriously, probably the best performance of any actor in anything Lynch has made. She was good in the show as Maddy, but it wasn't until the film that we got to see her full acting range, where she was nothing short of haunting.

reply

Agreed. I'm hoping she plays an important role in the new series, perhaps in another dual appearance (redhead in the outside world/Laura as White Lodge spirit).
