Remake?

Has anyone else noticed that this film is basically a remake of John Huston's 'Treasure Of The Sierra Madre'? Can anyone think of any other 'steath' remakes?

The Dean Cain/Scott Wiper 2002 Sci-Fi flick "Dark Descent" is a complete ripoff of "High Noon," to the point that some of the scenes in "... Descent" are lifted almost completely untouched, save for a few name changes and such.

And by the way, "Dark Descent" is set in a futuristic underwater mining colony. Which is just the setting I'd use to make a "stealth" remake of "High Noon," since it'd be the last place anyone would ever think to look.

The Sean Connery sci-fi flick Outland is an outer space remake of High Noon too.

Alfred Hitchcock's Lifeboat has been remade loads of times with dross like Legion (1998) or Crash and Burn (1990)

'The Most Dangerous Game' has been remade into 'Hard Target' and 'Surviving The Game'

'Ten Little Indians' has also been recycled a stack of times too.

Disturbia was remade from Rear Window.

No disrespect, but I think that's a bit of a stretch. While 'Sierra Madre' was admittedly called to mind occasionally when I watched this, I think if you claim this to be a remake, you'd have to lump all the 'greed for gold changing people' films into that catergory. The best argument I can think of for your suggestion is that Sadler's character was a lot like Bogey's- though the former was obviously trouble from the get-go, whereas the latter came as more of a surprise as the story progressed.

While it's not strictly a "remake" it is based on 'Treasure Of The Sierra Madre' even Bob Gale & Robert Zemeckis have admited as much.
