what did 'he' put in 'her' hair?????

i saw this movie some years back and so my memory is not all that sure....

but i recall a scene near the beginning of the movie in which a john has the main character of the movie kneel before him and, as he enters into some diatribe about how the nazis shaved the heads of traitorous women as a way of marking them, begins to rub something into her hair (which i find terribly erotic, though i am not sure why)...

anyone know what he put in her hair and why?

It was probably lube, but could have been shower gel or something similar. I got the impression he used it as he wanted her hair to be flattened and shiny, a bit like a glossy leather or latex helmet.
