Its a shame Brian Dennehy wasn't put up for an oscar with this. Though in 1992 he would of been going up against Tony Hopkins for Silence of the Lambs.
Personally, behind Tom Noonan in Manhunter I think BD's is the best performance of a serial killer ever. It still freaks me out when I watch it.

This was a made-for-tv movie so Dennehy couldn't have been nominated for an Oscar. He did get an Emmy nomination that he should have won.
