Bourne anyone?

The similarities are truly staggering. Elite "super-soldier/spy" given new identity then secretly trained by the government to carry out secret missions in the interest of National Security. Amnesia. The best one of the bunch. Was thought to be killed while on assignment. "Skills" increase while memory slowly returns. Shady high-ranking official tracking him. I know there is more...discuss.

Yes! I thought of the exact same thing! The Bourne-movies are complete rip-offs of this movie (even though it may be hard to believe)!

The Bourne novels came years before Timebomb.

I doubt this was the first of this type of premise, but yeah. Very much like Bourne. I think this movie would have been much bigger if the star was a bigger name. It was good for 1991 though.

this movie Time bomb was probably a rip off from "Bourne Identity" which was a T.V. movie starring Richard Chamberlain - 1988.. three years before this Time Bomb movie was made..the only difference is - richard chamberlain didn't work in a watch shop..

So, if anyone was doing the ripping off, it's the director of the 1991 Michael Biehn version.

yep, before both films hit the big screen.. t.v. and movies.. sad to say.. the screenplays were not exactly "close" to either one, but a great concept. Robert Ludlum was one of my favorite authors.. thanks for reminding me of this.. i absolutely forgot, that these concepts came from the book.

Rather than calling it a rip off, I prefer to think of them as remakes, or re-imaginings. Nobody owns an idea. Lots of art and media expound on ideas that came before theirs. It's interesting to learn of all the movies that were made on this premise. Some do it better than others.

Actually i got more of a Total Recall vibe from it.

Coincidentally, Cynthia Rothrock was considered for both movies.
