question, from someone who's never seen the film

In the bathroom scene, why are Alice Bloom (played by Eliza Dushku), Kathryn
(Katherine Heigl) and Barbara (Sarah Joy Stevenson) rubbing cream over their
nipples? What kind of cream are they using, and what purpose would it serve?

Don't know what the cream was exactly, but it was supposed to help them grow breasts.

Either it was one of those innumerable health-fad things around in the 50s (y'know, not like now!), or it was some urban-legend thing they'd heard and believed ('I heard if you rub cold cream on your chest then stand on your head and cough REAL hard, your boobs'll grow!'). Either way, the end result was intended to be growth.

Just from memory, the jar was labeled "Miracle Breast Cream" or something like that. It was one of those mail order gimmicks from the '50s, supposed to make your breasts larger "in just days".

Spam would be a lot more nice if it was selling breast enlargement...
