I got directors cut and.........

What the hell?
It seems like stuff is missing.
Like the scene of him in the chair with the goggles, and the cannon coming out of his chest. You know the one in the previews?
I dont rememeber seeing the child die either, though it speaks of it.
People mention lots of gore, i saw little aside fromt he scene with the dad and mother getting her brains blown out.

Is my copy missing something?

i have the DVD from manga. It shows both the child scene and the scene with the cannon coming out of the character's body. Doesn't seem like anything is missing from the VHS directors cut that i viewed some odd ammount of years ago.

as for "lots of gore". that's a matter of opinion i believe. Some people have told me that scream was extremely gory, but then i let those friends watch Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" and they have a whole new perspective on just how much violence and gore is availible in other films.

Just picked Manga Unrated Director's Cut, Nothing is missing from the original unrated VHS.

reply

well, how does it differ from the manga and/or regular tartan one? Any extra scenes/dialogue/gore/better music/etc?

reply

Is it a bootleg with a flashy name perhaps?

reply

Speak up dude, arg ill send him a message

*for shizzle*

It's the standard version. After the film premiered at festivals Tsukamoto changed a few things resulting in the "Super Remix Version" which has been released ever since. At least it says so in Tom Mes' book "Iron Man".
