I definitely recommend the Tartan UK DVD of this film if you have a way of playing PAL DVDs. The Manga Entertainment release looks to be transferred from a VHS source, thus is rather poor in quality. The Tartan release is quite a bit better, although still not very good.
There's also the Italian release by Raro Video, which I believe is only available as part of a box set containing the first Tetsuo as well as an earlier Tsukamoto short film called Denchu Kozo no Boken. This one has the nicest video of the three, and looks the most filmic, but unfortunately it was cropped for widescreen. This movie was very clearly framed at 1:37:1, so the 16:9 image looks really cramped, and often cuts off the tops of people's heads, or the lower halves of their faces. The most frustrating part is that the box itself even says the transfer is 4:3 (thus, webstores selling it will proclaim it is), but such is not the case.
I would assume the Japanese DVD is the best. I would really love to own the Japanese DVDs of Tsukamoto's movies, but I don't think any of them are English-friendly.
Also: Anyone interested in Tokyo Fist and has the means to watch PAL DVDs ought to get the Raro Video release. Looks better than the Manga DVD, and it has well-done English subtitles. I believe it's region-free (their Tsukamoto/Tetsuo box set is), but I'm not certain.
