Did you think Nick was Emily's Beshert?

Did anyone think Nick (Jamey Sheridan) was Emily's (Melaine Griffith's) Beshert?

I thought they went well together, and that it would have been a good ending to suggest that they were destined for one another (instead of Emily and Ariel). Thoughts?
