Apparently Burton was initially considered as director for this film but this project, which is basically a load of bad puns, seems beneath him.

I wonder how this project would have turned out had Burton been involved. I imagine that it would have been a lot more ambitious.

I even read that he was going to do it, but left to do Batman Returns when that got green lit.
