Northern Overexposure Sequence

OK, I have never understood why when the wolves appeared, didn't the three of them just immediately jump through the conduit into the next channel rather than run away from the conduit and into the shack. It just made no sense to me.

And yes, I know, it's "just a movie." It still bugs me.
