What if they remake this movie

They would put these shows in the remake:

Survivor: Hell

Demonic Idol

Big Murderer

The UnAmazing Race

The Demon Whisperer

Hell Park

Hell Have Talent

How I Met Your Possessed Mother

A few things:

1. You could probably get the movie somewhere along PG-13. You have to remember that if you're working with prime time television (even parodied television) there is generally little to no swearing and no nudity (or, in a reality show, it would be censored). Perhaps work in a joke using a glitch in the censor bar but what made this movie unique was that while it was 'Hell TV' it still stuck to the parameters of regular television.

2. I get the reference but it would be very outdated. Even using it in the 1992 version would have been somewhat outdated let alone almost 20 years after the original (if they made it within the next year). On top of that it all comes down to licensing rights and what not. They have to find an artist willing to send the limited rights of their song and/or getting said artist to perform in the movie. It would also make more sense to get a modern pop artist. Salt & Peppa were at the height of their career when this was made so it worked really well. Most of the people who watch modern television are not in the same generation as people who are familiar and like The Buggles (I am not one of these people, I love the Buggles).

3. Video games are iffy. Unless the television was routed through a video game system (like the XBOX 360 is planning) then transference from a television to video game is difficult as the two are not always synonymous.

4. Once again, what made "Stay Tuned" great was that it alluded to television shows/television movies that were pretty relevant to the time. There were exceptions, but if you're trying to make a hit then you want to stick with what is modern to the times. Sure, make a throwback or two to some classic/oldie shows and movies but do so minimally.

5. Making the characters young adults supports the "go with the modern" as opposed to throwbacks to the old. People relate best to the main characters and said main characters, if 20-25, are not ones who are typically going to be sitting down to watch 90's-early 2000's television shows. In regards to the plot being completely different, how can the plot be different? The details might be changed (two stoner teenagers instead of a couple in their 40's, a more zealous antagonist, etc.) but in the end it'll have to have a similar plot-line.

6. Going with those sort of shows could work, but there can't be too many as the movie could only be 1:30 to 2:00 long. Anywhere past that would be excessive for a comedy.

I am so sick of Tim Burton remaking and destroying my childhood films and TV shows.
I hope you die for ever suggesting him

They would obviously have a show called Hell's Kitchen but there would be some bizzare twist such as instead of the chefs cooking, the chefs are the ones getting cooked.

The sad, sad state of MTV these days is very, very ripe for a satirical beating for a remake of this movie.

I warned you not to go out tonight

This movie would make a great remake, and I usually hate remakes
