You DON' Thave to be Communist-curious to enjoy this flick

This is a movie about what HAPPENS when a government or monarchy are overthrown forcefully. The commentator puts it right when he writes "there will be those who adapt...and those who fall by the wayside". But he doesn't go quite far enough in describing the "purges". Power is alot like air. It fills a vacuum INSTANTLY. When the beloved Lenin died, any half-ass educated Russian should have known the s*&%! was going to hit the fan! Why? Because the nation was essentially in chaos, and EVERYONE, it seems, wants to change the world! The officials that gave Stalin power, knowing he was an expert BANK ROBBER/marksman, should at least have used their COMMON SENSE to watch their backs! I personally wouldn't have trusted my own MOTHER in such a period. Trotsky must have been the stupidest man alive for underestimating this "bear hunter" that was Stalin.

"Well, you HAVE to trust somebody", or you'll become an intolerable, murdering bastard, you say. Well, in such circumstances, I'd trust myself to make like a banana and SPLIT. Or hang around and play HARDBALL. But to trust your revolutionary comrades? PLEAAAAAASE!

Wise men speak because they have something to say - fools because they have to say something

I don't think real Communists like being reminded of mass murderers like Stalin representing their vision of utopia.

At least not in public.
