Was Stalin ,,Allowed'' to Die?

'tis well known that Engelbert Dollfuss did not die immediately when he was shot, but died anyway because he was not permitted to get medical attention. Did the same happen to Stalin? I have read that his doctors were too afraid of him to get close to him, but I have also read that Beria prevented the doctors from treating Dzhugachvili.
