yeah uh just wondering whats the relevance of the title "split second" to the movie?

"yeah, well in prison he'll be the pie"

It's a vague reference to how things can go from normal to totally weird in a split second.

on a italian version i just saw it "Stone"

Actually in Italy (as well as other countries as Poland) it's titled "Detective Stone" - which is pretty understandable as the title itself already makes little sense in its native language.
