South Central was meant to curtail gang murders

I wrote the novel "South Central L.A. Crips" (1987) to coax youngsters in my English classes at Manual Arts H.S. to read because I knew literacy was a key factor in stopping the gang murder epidemic. It is the seminal literary work on Crips.
Steve Anderson, the director, and I adapted the story to the screen, but Warner Bros fearing violence at the theaters like what happened w/Boyz in the Hood, curtailed the release to less than 100 theaters.
Fortunately, the message got out there, anyway.

My novel which is much longer and (most say) much better than the film is available w/my other books, "Inhale Gasoline & Gun Smoke (the story of the L.A. Uprising)" and "N*GG*S - The Black Curse", from my website, DonaldBakeer.com

Peace,
Donald Bakeer

I like your story, but you should never use IMDb for free publicity.

P.S. Your grammar and syntax are atrocious for an English teacher.

I am Jack's IMDb post.

now now black grammar is different from the correct grammar. even in school you have black teachers say "what was you doin' raekwon?"

but anyway thats why you have an editor.

all teachers, black and white, speak like that sometimes.
It's not correct, but people make mistakes.
