Not that I like this movie but it begs me to ask...


you know the scene where Ali pretty much tells Bobby how he abused his kid for all of his life? Do you ever think it was unrealistic?
I don't like the guy who played Bobby by the way. But it begs to me ask anyway -- I don't think a black kid would have taken his behavior.
I see this being more true with "Friends"-watching white families, and even then I think that's becoming a rarity, and more of them are fighting their parents back (not that I condone retalitory violence), but I'm sure a black kid would have *beep* his father up if he treated him like *beep*

Back when this movie was made and the time frame in which Ali was talking, yes it was very realistic. Some kids take crap from their parents because they love, respect and want to live up to their expectations. Not necessarily because of physically intimidation.
