If this story took place today

If someone like Ali had AIDS in this day and age, what are some changes that may take place? What kind of treatment advancements have been made in the last 20 or so years? Even though we still do not have an AIDS vaccine, studies suggest one is in the works. Also, would the same prejudices and misconceptions still take place among some demographics and groups of people? How might the general public respond in the 21st century? What kind of chances would someone like Ali have?
