Scene with Cosmo explaining how money works.

I don't know about you but that scene where Cosmo explains to his ex friend about how money works inside that cubicle with the computer inside it.

I really do wonder if "perception" is all that keeps the money system from imploding as they kind of get to in this scene.

What do you think?

This scene..

Reality is subjective.

Perception is a big part of it.

An organization will go to great lengths to prevent the public from finding out that money problems exist. The perception, thereafter, is that the organization may be insolvent, may not be around long, may not be reliable, etc. All (or any) of these "perceptions" may affect long-term profitability.

Urban legends exist regarding numerous organizations/individuals.

Most of these urban legends are not addressed directly by the affected organizations/individuals because the perception, thereafter, may be that these statements are accurate (on some level) AND... You may further the story by addressing it directly. If you've never heard the urban legend and I have to tell you that it's not true, I'm positively reinforcing the "false" statement by referencing it.
