-- require so much "improv" help from Straithhairn and Poitier after he was caught breaking into that Russian lady's office?

Sorry but that scene took a character who was supposed to be brilliant, imaginative and quick-thinking and made him look like a clod.

I agree that it's a witty scene, but it compromises the character.

Well, it is a movie. But looking at it objectively, he was probably nervous and panicked

Although it was supposed to be a funny scene, and it was, they should have made it go much smoother.

I didn't give it too much thought.
