the first 5 mins of sleepwalkers

Well, 2 cops go into a house after finding the outside of it littered with strung up dead cats. They find the corpse of a dead girl in a closet. She has a rose in her ear. It's obvious that this is the house where the mother/son sleepwalker couple has just departed from. This is in California. Basically this short scene illustrates the evolution of the sleepwalkers' cycle, meaning many dead cats and virginal corpses left behind. We then see the credits, then find the mother/son couple in Indiana, seeming to start off anew at this point, to find new prey and continue their incestual existence.

Basically, the premise of the movie is that this breed of cat people, known as "sleepwalkers", must feed off virginal blood in order to sustain themselves. Part of their code of conduct, their survival, involves some kind of sexual intercourse with each other, i.e. the purple glow coming from their bedroom while they are having sexual relations. Domestic cats are drawn to them, so they kill them off and set traps for them. Their species has shapeshifting abilities as well, which makes them reveal their true identities when under pressure or feeling weakness.

For more insight into the movie/concept overall, I'd suggest reading some reviews or just watching the movie a few times. It's good, campy fun, and a few surprise cameos splashed in as well.
