It's funny; years ago I tried to find a copy of the book. or at least to find out if it in fact existed. Every place I tried was a dead end. One dealer at an occult bookstore in Chicago swore he had seen a copy for sale one time. Eventually though I just came to the conclusion that it was invented for the movie. It was such a cool title, though, that it took me forever to actually admit it.

Try looking it up on Amazon they publish names of out of print books. Or just type it in a search bar. I don't know of any site dedicated to old occult books, but they're probably out there. Maybe it was just made up for the movie? Although the book used in Urban Legends, the Encyclopedia of Urban Legends is really a book that I found at my local and college library, so maybe it does exist.

You can't come in here, this is my mastabatorium!

I looked online for it one day for a couple of hours and found nothing. Either King made it up or it's something that's beyond rare.

I've heard the library at Miskatonic University has a copy. <G>

Where's Miskatonic University?

Thank you ignatiogran. Good to see you off the Whale Wars boards. :)

In quite a few H.P. Lovecraft novels.

reply

Where's Miskatonic University?
Arkham, Massachusetts.

Both Miskatonic and Arkham are creations of HP Lovecraft. IOW, both are fictitious.
